After earning my healthcare degree, I participated in a public health project in Mexico and stayed in Latin America, Australia and the United States in order to study and work. Back in Germany and increasingly interested in languages and communication, I began studying translation at the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences and moved to Berlin in 2000. Currently Im residing in Berlin and working as a freelance translator.

Interests

I am interested in language – and therefore in translation – in its social context. My main research interest focuses on feminist approaches within translation studies and the translation of Shoah survivor's testimony. Furthermore, for many years I have been actively engaged in various political groups and initiatives addressing subjects like antifascism, politics of memory in Germany and feminism.
