Presentation of the Department

Yes, we also translate books. Over the last couple of years we have translated a few titles for different publishing houses and plan to continue and expand our work in the literary field in the future. Below you will find a brief news entry about the most recent translation project from this department. December 2011: Another Book Translation Published!

Another book has been published that was (this time partially) translated by a transmute member! Daniel translated several articles for the richly illustrated 376-page hardcover titled “Die Welt von Vice.” Published on September 26th 2011 by Heyne Verlag,  its original title “The World according to Vice” was issued by the Scottish independent publishing firm Canongate Books. The book is a best-of collection combining the most popular articles from VICE, the well-known lifestyle magazine founded in 1994 in Montreal. Canongate Books describes this new work:

 

 “VICE Magazine started out as a reaction against the humourless, self-righteous posers of the end of the 90s. Originally a black and white fanzine, the magazine is published in 30 countries across the globe, and has grown into an international multimedia empire. A conglomerate of writers, photographers, artists and filmmakers, they report first-hand on war, terrorism, the environment and how everything is going to hell - with as much relish as they do sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll - all served up with a large dose of humour.”
